Key Features
- U-shaped embrace: The hangers feature a U-shaped design that securely holds the joist's top flange, ensuring a strong connection.
- No need for web stiffeners: These hangers eliminate the need for bothersome web stiffeners during standard installation, simplifying the process.
- Obround nail holes: The obround nail holes are strategically placed on the acute side of the hangers, allowing for easy parallel installation of nails alongside the joist.
- Flexibility: The SUR/L hangers accommodate a 40° to 50° skewed joist, offering adaptability to different construction requirements.
- Positive-angle nailing: The hangers have positive-angle nailing, which helps preserve the integrity of engineered wood sizes by preventing wood splitting during installation.
- End-of-wall installation: For solid sawn sizes in end-of-wall installation, the SURC or SULC variations provide a solution with an acute flange that turns in.

Installation
- To ensure a secure installation, it is important to use all the specified fasteners as indicated. Please consult the General Notes for detailed instructions
- The joist end can be either square cut or bevel cut, accommodating different construction requirements.
- For optimal performance and load-bearing capacity, make sure to fill all round nail holes with the specified fasteners. Additionally, where indicated, triangle holes in the joist flange can be filled to provide additional uplift capacity.
- Please note that if you are using hangers that are 14 gauge and lighter with I-joists having flanges less than 1 5/16", web stiffeners are required for all double joist hangers. This ensures safety and structural integrity.
