The ABW is a specially designed solution for securely attaching wooden posts to existing concrete in medium-capacity applications. It features an adjustable post base with a built-in 1" standoff to prevent rot at the post's end.
The base has a slotted anchor hole for easy adjustability, and the post can be attached using nails or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws. With its versatility and cost-effectiveness, the ABW is an ideal choice for securing posts to the foundation.

Installation
- Use all specified fasteners as mentioned in the General Notes section.
- Refer to our Anchoring, Fastening and Restoration Systems for Concrete and Masonry catalog for retrofit anchor options like Titen HD, Stainless-Steel Titen HD, or SET-3G.
- Note that the ABW is not recommended for non-top-supported installations, such as fences or unbraced carports, as it does not provide sufficient resistance to prevent rotational movement.
To install the ABW:
- Place the base and secure washer(s) or load transfer plate(s) and nut(s) on the anchor bolt(s). Adjust the post placement as needed and tighten the nut securely on the anchor bolt.
- Insert the standoff base and the post into the ABW. Fasten the assembly on three vertical sides using nails or Strong-Drive SD Connector screws.
- Bend up the fourth side and secure it using the appropriate fasteners.
