Say goodbye to common issues like head pullover, broken screws, warping, buckling, and oil-canning with this fascia bit.
At the heart of this fastening system lies the fascia counterbore bit, an essential tool for achieving a flawless installation of your fascia board. This specially designed bit creates a hole in the fascia material that is wider than the shank of the fascia screw, allowing the board to expand and contract naturally with changes in the environment.
Key Features
- Accommodates board expansion and contraction
- Fits standard drill bits: The 1/4" arbor of the bit ensures compatibility with commonly available drill bits.
- Ideal for PVC and composite fascia boards
Installation
- Use the fascia counterbore bit to predrill counterbore holes into your fascia material. Begin at the upper left corner and position the first hole 2" from the upper and left edges. Continue drilling holes every 24" on center, with the final hole positioned 2" from the right edge.
- Repeat the process, starting 2" from the bottom and left edges. Place the second hole 12" from the first, and then stagger the remaining predrilled holes every 24". The final hole should be positioned 2" from the bottom and right edges.
- Using a drill-driver motor with the torsion setting adjusted appropriately, install the fascia screws into each hole. Take care not to overdrive or over tighten the screws, as it may cause damage.
